I was saved by a woman who stopped to help at my car accident in the desert highway; I was life flighted to the University of New Mexico, then later flown to Ohio State University. I continued rehabilitation at Green Springs, Ohio. Having nowhere to go after 4 hospitals, I became involved with VocRehab, attending College while living in a nursing home on $30 month. I moved to and graduated from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. I became involved with disability issues around the state of Ohio out of a beginning quest of need for self advocacy to get off tax payer monies.
I have held honors of Miss Wheelchair Ohio 2002 and won Quality of Life Awards. I am currently employed for The U.S. Department of Energy in Civil Rights and Diversity. My dream is to meet the woman who stopped on the highway to save my life.
A decent ending, but cure would be cheaper than all my past medical bills, personal, and tax monies spent trying to struggle just living everyday life.
Save someone living the hardship of my story. Find a cure!
