c5 6 and 7 Quad, July 2005
Hi my name is Brandon Powell, 28 years of age and this is my story. On July 30, 2005 my life changed forever. While driving down the interstate pulling a small trailer with my pickup at 80 mph the trailer started to whip, pulling me into a ditch where I rolled and was ejected from the vehicle because I was not wearing a seatbelt. Instantly I knew I had broken my neck and back, conscious the entire time it was a real shock to look at my legs and not be able to move them. Unfortunately my wife was following right behind me and saw the entire accident. Good thing was my 3 children were riding with her at the time. I have had 3 months of rehabilitation at Craig Hospital in CO. I am now an ASIA C with a lot of feeling and some movement against gravity. I am currently able to stand on my own power, and walk with the assistance of a walker. Now that we are so close to actually healing we need to get support from our government. Support the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Act and help us get out of these chairs!!
