C1-C2 Complete, July 2007

My name is Faith. Just saying my name helps my family learn to deal with SCI. My Aunt Tracey’s car was hit by a DUI driver who ran a red light. Not only was my life as an active three year changed, but my mother was too. See she was also in the accident. She has a severe head injury that took all of her memory for the last 23 years. So she does not remember me when I was running around, or away from her, swimming in the pool or helping my PaPa in the year. My MeMaw took lots of pictures so we check them out once in awhile. But for now I spend most of my day learning to live again. The hardest part is I am a C1-C2 injury. My spinal was stretched. Now we are just waiting on a cure. We are hoping that it will be in my life time. Till then my family has their hands full getting me, just a three year old to do lots of exercises that will keep my body healthy till there is a cure. Along with teaching me to still have fun.
