C3 complete, July 2009

I broke my neck at the C3 level in July 2009. I dove into some shallow water in Coldwater Lake, Michigan, and thus altered my life forever. I was 33 years old at the time. This accident left me completely paralyzed without feeling or movement below my shoulders. As you can imagine, it has been a tough and challenging road back to where I am today. Although I still have not regained any sensation or movement, I still get up and fight every day and work hard.

Such an accident would be a personal disaster for anyone. But those who know me, know that I have an insatiable appetite for life and accomplishment. Since that awful moment at the lake, there have been many difficult days. There will be more. But I am a fighter and will not quit. I have worked extremely hard to rebuild my body and mental attitude throughout the first 18 months following my accident.
