Jim Shatto Madison, Wisconsin, USA
C5, August 2000
Although injured by a tourist in a MVA, Jim has retained a positive attitude and is optimistic about medical research to help all SCI.
As a Type l diabetic as well as SCI, he continues to work for the much needed ESC research that could enrich and potentially save lives.
As "Stem Cell Champions" in Wisconsin, Jim, with his sister Deb, are strong advocates for ESC research and are committed to raising awareness, educating the public and being active volunteers in the political arena to effect change on both local and national levels. They also volunteer with the Lymphoma/Leukemia Society. Through these and other efforts, Jim and Deb work to address a broad spectrum of needs, issues and concerns affecting their community and beyond.
Jim's constant refrain: "Be Positive, Move Forward"
