Injured in a car accident at the age of 17, Carrie has traveled an enormous distance since that fateful day in 2003. She is now a student at Washburn University and actively pursuing a career in writing, acquiring skills that she hopes will help her contribute to finding a cure for paralysis.

“Although research and clinical trials are happening all over the world (China, Portgual, Turkey, etc.), we have yet to see clinical trials in the U.S.

To me, this is unacceptable.”
